I give thanks to First Nations for both allowing and enabling me to live a life of privilege on their lands. I try to acknowledge my appreciation of this gift by standing in solidarity on the myriad of issues where they have been wronged. In part, writing is my declaration that I stand in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples in Canada. I do not profess to have all the answers. I hope that by sharing what I know with others, many will open their eyes and minds to new ways of thinking, processing what they learn or need to unlearn and pressure those in positions of power to step up and take appropriate action toward true Reconciliation.
