Upcoming: Book Launch for Water Justice: What You Don’t Know Could Kill You
You are invited to a Book Launch in honor of World Water Day, when I release my second book.
Water Justice: What You Don’t Know Could Kill You, exposes threats to the health of Canadians from Canada’s drinking water, revealing government negligence and affecting both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. The book critiques Canada’s weak and provincially varied drinking water guidelines compared to other G7 nations drinking water regulations, arguing that corporate lobbyists hold more influence than citizens over water policy.
Blacklin documents political indifference across parties and connects the decline of Canada’s water quality to the erosion of our democracy. Highlighting contaminated source waters and inadequate protections, the book calls readers to action, emphasizing that safe drinking water requires citizen engagement to overcome government failure and corporate control.

Dear fellow Canadians,
As a proud member of three national women's organizations — the National Council of Women of Canada, Soroptimist International, and the Canadian Federation of University Women — I know firsthand that women and children bear the greatest burden when safe drinking water is not available.
On World Water Day, March 22nd, I will be launching my second book: Water Justice: What You Don't Know Could Kill You. This is a Call to Action, culminating in a national open letter writing campaign demanding national drinking water regulations based on source water protection, addressed to Prime Minister Carney and the federal government.
The National Council of Women of Canada has generously offered to host the letter on their website, and a number of organizations will be amplifying it across their platforms. You can view the letter here — please feel free to share with your membership, and they with their networks of friends and family members:
