The town of Qualicum Beach has failed to apply for federal funding to remove all asbestos cement pipes, choosing instead for them to become a burden on tax paying residents.
The town has failed to follow WorkSafe BC laws for removal of asbestos pipes, choosing to abandon in place causing toxic waste sites
The Town has failed to act on report to remove or repair aging asbestos sewage pipes leaking raw sewage
The liability now exceeds $100m
